I see a huge spike in the number of new Steem accounts yesterday. 6,795 new accounts. That's a growth of 1.5% in just one single day! (Total Steem accounts now: 441,024). Welcome to Steemit guys! :)
It looks like Steemit Inc. has been busy yesterday verifying all the new sign ups from the last couple of days. It must have been a pretty huge backlog.

One of my friends signed up over 9 days ago, and was just approved yesterday. So they definitely had a huge backlog to take care of. Glad that they're back on track with accounts approval.
Do you have any explanation for that pulse that seems to be occurring on Chart 8 since that spike occurred around September 20th?
Just curious if you had any extra insight about that since you put these charts together and are clearing better informed about whats happening to the entire system. Thanks for any additional ideas you can offer up
The spike occurred after Poloniex re-enabled deposits and withdrawals after a long time...

Appreciate the link, that makes sense. But any thoughts on that pulse that seems recurring after that spike? Does the pulse correlate with any thing else you are aware of or monitor?

Hi - could you please elaborate on your definition of a daily active user? Are there any conditions they must meet, or is it just unique logins per day? Thanks for these reports and for the ever so amazing steemnow interface.
An active user is an account that made at least one transaction on the Steem blockchain. This can be a post, comment, vote, transfer, power up/down or sbd conversion.
