  • Steem's price may be a bit lower, but is still up 65% this year.

    Steemit may very well be on the edge of going viral some time this year. It may even happen around the time of the EOS launch as Dan Larimer will have a lot of eyes on him during that time, and people will take interest in what he is doing (EOS) as well as what he has done in the past (Steemit/Bitshares). Could Steemit/Bitshares/EOS become a major trifecta in the crypto space this year? It is very possible!

    It's exciting to see so much activity, and especially to see so many new accounts... and all this is happening before HF.20 kicks in and supposedly makes the signup process more streamlined.

    Of course, I am particularly happy to the the overall level of engagement increasing!

    Where are you getting the account data from? I cannot find the source for this information.

    It's all publicly available on the Steem blockchain :)
    If you are a programmer you can use SteemJS (Javascript library) for example to access the data.

      I used to use https://steemd.com/ to get the figure but it was removed. Can you show your source? And what is the name of the figure in SteemJS?

      STEEM's price is mostly following the crypto markets in general, but is currently ranked #37 on coinmarketcap.com which is way to low for such a great cryptocurrency in my opinion.

      No transaction fees, very fast (3 seconds), most used blockchain based on transactions, great platform, SMTs coming... I'm very bullish :)

      What exactly is being done officially to get the word out? I found out through a friend. Word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool, but it needs to be fed, so I'm hoping there's something out there other than what I've seen. Does the Alexa ranking play into that, perhaps? In other words, are we the online marketing tool? :)

          Most important aspect is that people are still powering up despite Steem nosediving(like all alt coins) and that speaks for the faith people have kept in Steem
          .
          Hopefully the panic selling would stop and Steem would stabilize around $5. Only to be kicked beyond $10 levels in 2018. Steem On!!!
