How do you hold the Steering Wheel? Which Position 10 / 2 o'clock? Wrong?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Lots of people out there including driving instructors and self defence courses teach the method of holding a steering wheel in the 10 / 2 o'clock position. But is this the best possible position to be holding a steering wheel ?

It is going to break your thumbs. It is going to rip you're thumbs off if you hold the steering wheel with you're thumbs locked around the steering wheel

The manufacturers say to hold the steering wheel at the 10 / 2 o'clock position. Is this correct?

Keep thumbs placed outside of the steering wheel to prevent broken or severed thumbs being taken off in an event of a crash, or if the airbag deploys. oh really, is all this true?

Why are there bolsters at the 10 and 2 o'clock position on steering wheels then?

All these are some of the arguments that is being said to hold the steering wheel at the 10 / 2 o'clock position.

BUT I beg to differ

The BEST position to hold the steering wheel for total precise control of you're vehicle is the 9 / 3 clock position. WHAT?

Precise motor control can only ever be achieved if you grip the steering wheel in the appropriate 9 / 3 position. with thumbs placed on the inner part of the steering wheel.

Do you agree? Do you have any evidence to prove otherwise?
