RE: Can anyone defend @berniesanders?

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Ok, I'll try to defend berniesanders.

Everyone has the right to vote their stake.

Berniesanders has a massive stake in this system. I don't know the exact number, but I'm sure it's around at least one million USD worth.

That's a fucking lot of money. What would you do with a million dollars @skeptic? I'm sure you could put it to good use. Well, Bernie could put it to good use too, but he doesn't. Why? Because he keeps the money locked up in this Steem system.

The reason why this Steem system can "magically" spit out tens and twenties to all the posters is because Bernie (and whales like him) are not cashing out, or least, not cashing out enough to completely drain the system.

So, believe it or not, Bernie has the right to decide that you never make a penny in Steemit again. He has earned that right, by having the foresight to be involved with this system early, and not having cashed out yet.

Look, I don't like the fact that he is flagging you, and certainly don't agree with everything he does with his stake, but..but I respect the way the System works.

If Steemit ever changes, removes flagging, waters down the importance of Stake, becomes a socialist paradise, then I will power down and leave. Because if the system isn't respecting Bernie's stake, then it's not respecting mine either, so I'll just take my game elsewhere.

Sorry, I know this is not want you want to hear. I would suggest you try to negotiate with him somehow, I can try to support you.

Best of luck.

Do those downvotes remove my curation award, too?

It seems consistent that it would.

They do yes.
