RE: Can you teach an old Steem-dog new tricks? How to give your curation rewards a boost today!

Ha Asher! Giving away all my secrets!

It's true though, it's there in plain sight. Utopian is currently a very good source of curation rewards, with the added benefits that:

  • I think it's a good project for steem and one I'm happy to support - some percentage of your upvotes (25%) goes to utopian itself.
  • Posts are moderated so you know they are of a certain level of quality (this isn't perfect yet, but the project is new, off to a really good start, and developing fast).
  • You have a pretty good idea how much the following utopian-io whale vote is going to be so you can plan your own upvote accordingly.

A couple of tips for anyone looking into this approach:

  • Join utopian and upvote on their site. They only show articles once they have been approved by moderators so you can be sure they will receive the utopian upvote (of course, other users may jump in first before mods have made their ruling, but this isn't happening too much at the moment)
  • On the utopian site it's organised by category. It's based on the busy.org front-end so you can hover over the thumb and see the size of previous utopian upvotes for that category. Development and Analysis posts tend to get a good upvote.
  • The lower the payout on the post at the moment you upvote it, the better for your curation rewards.

I also look at projects like OCD, which again have the benefit of a following whale vote combined with posts that are chosen for their quality. Same principles apply.

I haven't looked at DTube yet for curation rewards yet - been a bit slow on that one!

Thanks for the detailed response, I've bumped you up the blog for visibility as there is lots of good info here!

Not much more to add, and I have a headache presumably from all the chocolate last night, cheers!
