Help!!! So Newbies dont Leave Steemit right away!

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

After reading on Steemit for perhaps 20 hours total in the last several days, here are my newbie suggestions.

1.  Make the $ rewards of each post and comment invisible to readers so that people will upvote on the quality of the content, and not just chase curating rewards.

2. Perhaps let the author of each post see their financial rewards as it could be a very exciting process for them to see their $ go up and up and up!

3. Employ curating teams for subgroups, to help upvote quality posts.  A team for photography, another for poetry, another for food, etc...   Also the members of a curating team could communicate with each other through some sort of messaging system, and this would enhance the enjoyability of their search for new people to upvote.

4. Create a wiki or how to page for newbies that explain how to nagivate the website, the value of the site (testimonials?) and how best to proceed as a newcomer. Perhaps a forum for newbies with experienced Steemians answering their questions. This would also keep newbie questions out of posts, which should be saved for good content.

5. A statistics section that shows how much readership is going up or down here, what posts are getting read most, upvoted most. What are the new trends both financially and content-wise.

6. New topics/tags because the list of current ones are so few and get boring quickly.  How about a section for videos? Gifs? Animation? Memoir? Gamers? The Weather? Precious Metals? Economy? Dance, Origami? I'm also hoping the travel section will have subtopics at least by geographic region if not by countries.

7. A donate button or tip jar, so that people can directly tip posts they like.

8. A cryptocurrency wiki attached that has an explanation for people new to crypto... this would help retain all the really non-tech unsavvy members who might start flooding Steemit soon.

9. LINKS.  Links to the steemit chat, and to other helpful steemit apps. Show the newbies right away just how many people are involved in all parts of steemit.

Thanks for your consideration of these ideas.  I welcome followers and comments.
