Suicide is NOT an option...
Hello Steemians...
I do not like to publish this type of things in my blog, but I think we need to pay attention to this topic that we often stigmatize. 3 suicides of famous people that are part of the news headlines in just a week... I speak of Anthony Bourdain, Ines Zorreguieta and Kate Spade...
We can not ignore the mental and EMOTIONAL health crisis that we are going through worldwide. Depression and anxiety are VERY REAL conditions and the one you least imagine could be going through a dark moment and could be fighting a battle alone... They are diseases such as cancer, AIDS, diabetes and should be treated at a professional and spiritual level!!! Suicide is NOT the solution. NEVER will be... If you are going through a difficult time where you do not see exit I want you to know that EVERYTHING HAPPENS and things improve... ALL ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HAPPENS!!!
The contagion of suicide is very real. I know for those of us who have suffered thoughts of suicide, seeing this news in the headlines this week is not easy. The flashbacks and the ideas as a result of this are normal, but still alarming...
Many will not understand their actions and some will match their success levels as immunity to mental health problems, which is never the case. Your financial status, occupation, race and gender do not have that power. Mental Health is a HUMAN problem that we all face, just as we do with physical health.
The wise words of Maya Angelou resonate more than ever in these times: "Do not diminish your experiences in life People do not need your sympathy, but they need your empathy" In short, _"We are simply people commons that have been blessed to do extraordinary things. "Mental health is a subject with very little discussion and exposure. The theme may not have the "great" or "enlightened" factor, but I will tell you what is "great and enlightened" LIFE!
Help yourself and others by first teaching yourselves with mental health resources. When you understand your own mental health and your behaviors, you are more prepared to help and empathize with others. We all do the necessary work to raise awareness about these issues on a constant basis, not only when a life is lost.
This week have been three human beings, but over time there have been many more... People we saw as leaders, examples to follow or simply were people who in one way or another achieved through their art to make life a collective who was greatly affected by his sudden and unexpected departure...
It only remains to tell them that Rest in Peace!!!
