Running – cycling – walking – Sauna

Hello Steemit,

So, my second training in Oberstdorf didn’t go as I expected. I thought that I could train and afterwards go for a walk with my girlfriend’s family. But it didn’t go that way. I came back from running and nobody knew what to do, so I came with the idea of mountain biking. First I will tell you about the running and then about the killing mountain biking tour.

The second run in Oberstdorf.

So, my first training was running in the mountains (10,51km). The day after I had some pain in my foot and needed to buy knew recovery shoes. Therefore, I did not want to run in the mountains, during this training

Preparations

Again, I needed lots of carbohydrates. So, de day before I ate my favorite German meal
• Spätzle
• Keizer smage

The run

I went running and took 2 kilometers to warm up. Afterwards I increased my speed and ran 3 kilometers at max speed (my current max speed). Each kilometer uphill took me 4 minutes. Afterwards I did 1 kilometer recovery in 5:00 minutes.

The cycling tour.

So, I came back from running, still fresh at the breakfast and nobody knew what to do for the day. I came up with the idea of mountain biking. The only one who dared to go mountain biking with me was, @raoulhermanns (the elder brother of my girlfriend) I do not want to sound arrogant or anything but I am an experience mountain biker and @raoulhermanns never mountain biked in his life

We started a bit easy, to get used to the bikes. We took around 4 kilometers to do this. After this we went to the mountains (the Alps) where we climbed one of the steepest mountains I’ve ever climbed. We needed 2 hours and 30 minutes to get fully to the top of the mountain. And around 15 minutes to get down (you can image how steep it was). When we were down we did not feel like stopping, so we cycled another 12 kilometers. When we came back in Oberstdorf we had 23 kilometers in total cycled in the mountains. Because we are both competitive we wanted to make it 30 kilometers. After that it started to rain like hell so we quit at 30 kilometers. I think if it didn’t start raining that badly, we would even have cycled more.

After the cycling, we went for a well-earned sauna, afterwards an ice-cold swim in the pool. We did this because it stops muscle ache.

The day after.

I thought I would have a lot of muscle ache, but I had none. Then I thought Raoul probable would have muscle ache because he had no experience in cycling, but neither of us had it. Luckily.
So, if you don’t want any muscle ache, try a 90-degree sauna for 15 minutes. It worked for us.
