Reducing Conflict: Why We Must Be Primarily Mobile ..steemCreated with Sketch.

The Kids Are No Longer Chained to PCs ...

We programmers, geeks, retired crypto miners, out-of-date-MMO recovering addicts, traders, designers, word processors .. and so on .. we love your desktop & laptop computers. We need them, every day and for as many hours as we can possibly spare! The new generation and the next do not - they game on their consoles and in their virtual reality rigs, and when they are not gaming they are on the move; tablets and phones being maximally utilized .. all day, every day!

This is even more the case in the wider world - people use their phones, they don't have a large, hot, power-sucking box running 24 hours per day taking up too much space in small abodes.

Do We Know Too Much!?

Most of us, including myself, would say NO WAY! Information Wants to Be Free! There is no such thing as being "too well informed" .. so on and so forth .. this is of course absolutely the correct reaction. But we are not talking about ourselves, as individuals, we are here to discuss the platform, and what is best for the it and its future. It is meant as food for thought as I have not reached any conclusions myself as yet - some of my friends have, I believe prematurely, and have decided to leave .. convinced that we are doomed by increasing division and open warfare.

Using our static computational boxes, the most important part of which is of course the keyboard .. we are able to get to whatever information we want, about pretty much anything. This is very true about STEEM & STEEMIT - using the many web apps and code repositories that exist, we can find out EXACTLY what any STEEMIT participant is doing, for how much and with whom.

For those developing tools and products based on the STEEM Blockchain, this kind of access is absolutely required - for those "twinkies" or "script kiddies" who seek information only to gain advantage over others, and to dig up information for use in increasing dissension, ends up only fueling conflict. For those innocent users who are able to see clearly the unfairness, abuse, and outright crime that is occurring become quickly disenchanted.

Is Ignorance Going to Be Bliss!?

When STEEM and STEEMIT was first introduced, transparency and "complete information" were very important to the developers - the platform needed to be seen as legit, and truly blockchain driven - this has been well-established. When most of this information is made less readily accessible and the number of users grow exponentially, the sources of conflict here on STEEMIT will dissipate - the individuals involved will lose their gravitas and become obscured, as other and hopefully much larger fish enter the pond.

Some time ago @sneak , STEEM Inc. engineer, spent some time with the STEEMSPEAK community on Discord .. he made it clear that the emphasis was going to be on mobile, with apps being currently developed. This is the correct decision in regards to wide and rapid adoption - official mobile apps for phone and tablet. The additional benefit might be greatly reduced conflict due to a larger userbase, and also less readily available information for one to get insanely angry about ... as justifiable as that anger might be.
