It's Time to Get Dirty !

in #steemit7 years ago

Do you have new bulbs to plant, or beds, where the bulbs have multiplied and gotten too thick? Now is the time to separate and replant these beauties. Examples of plants that may need to be separated and replanted include (but are not limited to): calla lilies (shown), tulips, ginger, hyacinth, tiger lily, asiatic lillies and day lilies. Don’t re-plant too deeply and make sure to keep the rhizome always on the top side of the bulb when re-planting. The rhizome is the flat side of the bulb, that needs to be warmed by the sun as the soils warms and the days get longer. Don't forget to add Bone Meal to each hole to ensure bulb health.
