Project A119: a brief history

We all remember the space race, the competition against the Soviet Union to see who can get to space first, and it's because of that race that we landed the first humans on the moon, winning the race against the Soviets.
But that plan could have been in ashes, because of the project A119

What's the project A119?

This project was created by the CIA, and the plan was to nuke the moon with atomic bombs,
Eventually destroying the moon
since they knew that the explosion would be visible on earth, they thought that it would give the Americans a morale boost, and to intimidate the Soviets. Thankfully, this project was rejected and scrapped, so that they could focus on actually landing people on the moon. And to actually destroy the moon is currently impossible, because you will need a weapon that is more powerful than the whole nuclear arsenal of the world (which is an estimated 15000 nuclear warheads)
And why would we even try to destroy it, when we can build a moon base up there, we can analyse the soil on the surface, it supports the tides down here on earth

If there's no ideas like project A119, then we will be able to take advantage of the moon soon
