HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR HARVEST
Luke 5:4—5
4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
It takes faith to sow seeds. As a matter of fact sowing seeds is an act of faith. It is also important to realize that the harvest of our seeds sown must be received in faith.
In our text, Peter had offered his boat to Jesus to preach with after a frustrating fishing expedition that ended probably on an all time low.
Giving Jesus his boat had a harvest attached to it. Jesus said in Mark 10:29—30, "... Mark my words, no one who sacrifices house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, land—whatever— because of me and the Message 30 will lose out. They'll get it all back, but multiplied many times in homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land—but also in troubles. And then the bonus of eternal life!
Every sacrifice you make for JESUS and THE MESSAGE has a GREAT HARVEST. The problem is that some believers do not know how to receive the harvest.
Let's see how the harvest comes.
2 Corinthians 9:7—8
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
When we GIVE, what God gives to us is GRACE! Grace is the supernatural ability of God for miracles. Grace is supernatural ability. The way grace works is by Spirit prompted or inspired instructions. The Bible says Jesus said to Peter. Today, Jesus speaks to us through the Holy Spirit.
Your harvest is in the instructions that God gives you through the Holy Spirit. When you give a boat the harvest will be Jesus saying something to you!
If you sow a financial seed concerning anything, God will release grace to you!
Romans 7:6 says, "But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life].
(AMP).
In the New Testament, we serve by obeying Spirit prompted instructions.
In Luke 5 Jesus told Peter to launch into the deep and lay down his ' nets' for a catch. Though he obeyed, he limited his harvest. Instead of 'nets' he laid down a 'net.' Just imagine if he used all his nets!
When you sow your seeds, listen to the voice of God's Spirit. Yield to that thought that the Holy Spirit brings to your heart and obey FULLY because that is where your harvest lies.
In Christ Jesus everyday is a harvest day for the sower! Reach out and take your harvest today!
Grace is freely given. You don't have to give in order to receive it. Just repent of your sins and accept what Jesus did on the cross as payment for those sins.
Just because Jesus showed Peter who He was by the miraculous catch of fish doesn't mean that God will miraculously cause us to prosper.
What Jesus Christ did on the cross didn't just bring salvation alone, He died to give us life, health, prosperity and every good thing that belongs to the father. the bible says Whatsoever you lay your hands on prospers, also "I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health" God's will is for us to prosper, the miracle happened already at the cross.
I really appreciate your comment.
Thanks
