Problems Brought Upon by the Recent Youtube Boycott Reach FBE's REACT Channel + Steemit Opportunity
This is one of those big downturns that Steemit can take advantage of.
Due to the recent boycott by major advertising companies in Youtube, big Youtube channels including the Fine Brothers Entertainment (FBE) found themselves scratching on their heads from the significant decrease in revenue.
On what may have been like some of their guessing challenges, React's latest episode entitled "GUESS THAT SONG CHALLENGE: SILENT MUSIC VIDEOS!" suddenly interrupts at 3:52 wherein the producers shared the difficulty of producing videos as much as before.
"As you might know the ad rates of youtube are pretty low which makes it difficult for the company to produce a dozen videos a week over the two channels..."
Derek, Associate Producer in React Channel of FBE
They then proceeded to the main reason for the interruption which was advertising a clothing company and giving out promo codes so that viewers can access a 20% discount. The immediately game continues at time 5:05.
So there are two important things here:
- Fine Bro's Entertainment may be looking for sponsors so maybe we can try to make them talk about us? I think that it would be expensive, though.
- FBE could be in need of another source of income which is Steemit.
This is a great opportunity for Steemit but also one that we could miss out 'cos what's happening is very sudden and might require some further research and weighing.
We're also in beta still and I'm only writing here to spread the word out to Steemit about this seemingly exciting opportunity.
The React channel of FBE alone has 7.6 Million subscribers and their main channel, FBE has a staggering 15.4 Million subscribers. Their view counts per video ranges from hundreds of thousands to millions.
If ever they come over, many other big channels will do so too and they'll bring with them their loyal fans. However, that's just my speculation.
Do you guys have any suggestion on what to do with this? Is there anything that I missed? We can discuss them below in the comments section.
