Not an expert here, just a newbie. However, I voted for three witnesses yesterday, as I, too, realize this is an important task.

Witnesss keep Steem honest. They provide the mechanics/technology that allows Steem to steam ahead.

I based my votes on mainly three things combined:

  • reputation
  • content of posts, their motivation
  • their general history

Based on that, I am confident that to having made good decisions. Blind vote is dangerous. Research is key.

    You are absolutely right. But since I don't think I can do the research properly, I would rather choose a person that I know will do it and will cast responsible votes keeping an eye on this as a whole for the long run.
