RE: Reflections on the Benefits and Growing Pains of Project Curie, Steem Guild, and Other Curation Projects on Steemit

in #steemit8 years ago

As an author here that will never qualify for Curie, and would decline steem guild recognition on the premise that speech is not free there, let me say that my view of the platform is less rosy.
My votes get rounded down.
The votes I get from someone with weight enough to register at .01 all round down at payout.
That is very frustrating.
I call it minnow math. Perhaps you have heard of the term.
If I can't come to the platform and at least get paid the little rewards I do earn what is the point?
I know those more fortunate than me don't have this problem, the rich just keep getting richer.
For the average joe to come here and not get paid the rewards he does earn because the platform is built to favor those with disposable, investable income is making viral adoption that much harder.
I suggest doing the math to the 10th decimal, even if that is not visible on the scale, at some point it would become so.
