Almost daily I manually go through introduction posts by new users looking for promising accounts. Part of the information I share with them is the steemit.chat details.

This issue just came up in another conversation, but Discord is directly linked to gaming. Many people work for companies that block gaming sites. The company I work for does, and I cannot use Discord here at work.

Steemit.chat works though, and I absolutely love it to network with friends and to better coordinate Steemit.com activity. It has made my experience way better, and I've met a ton of friends by using it too.
