Agreed with #1 however the other points are base in suppositions. I'm fairly new and even I know that SP doesn't increase your visibility.
The ones who started early have clearly more advantage over us minnows but your focus is out of place.
But I do agree with a few of your ideas within the things that you misunderstood.
And again. UI / UX is something that must change.

That's true. In order for one to know more about the site, one has to read tons of papers and articles.
Yes, can't be expected from the average user.
