What the fuck is wrong with Steemit?

I have been telling about Steemit to all of my friends and family members. Some of them them have signed up for their account and guess what: they have been waiting for days on end for having their accounts confirmed. I don't know what's going on here but this is definitely not the way to go, you won't reach mainstream like that.
