Warning: NEVER USE 100% POWER UP OPTION IN YOUR POSTS, 50/50 IS SO MUCH BETTER - HERE'S WHY

I am sure we can all agree on one thing, the market has really dipped and most authors scared to post because payouts were low. But that shouldn't be the case, our love for Steem should be one that surpasses the steem price chart whether it falls or not. Not withstanding, I believe in Steem and so should you.

The main reason I wrote this post is because few days back I saw a post on here (unfortunately unable to remember the authors name) where he stated clearly why steem authors should not go with the 100% POWER UP option when about to submit newly written posts. I am posting about it again because obviously the majority don't have a grab of this yet as i read another post today from one of my favorite authors (name withheld) advising that other authors use the 100% POWER UP OPTION when writing their articles or posts. It then got me wondering, we are all learning everyday and nobody, I repeat nobody is perfect. I will try to explain this in as much layman language as possible so pay attention.

The default setting is set to the 50/50, that is after the 25% Curation fee is deducted from your total payout, the remaining 75% is split 50/50. One half is deposited into your SBD account while the other into your Steem power account.

Now most authors change this setting to 100% POWER UP, maybe because they don't want the steem dollars and only interested in the Steem power. Others might just see it as stress having to convert the SBD into Steem coins before moving it into the power up section.

However it may be, you are not making the most profit from your payouts with the 100% POWER UP Option. Majority of the authors here believe that since SBD price is lower than STEEM price, it is better to power up. My reaction to that is a big NO. Now here is why...

If I decide to use merely words, am sure some of you will argue against it. So I have a mathematical formula to go with it based on some certain principles.

Just as explained in the post I read, let's assume SBD price rate is at $4 and STEEM is at $5. Your post payout is $40 and if I am correct, after 25% Curation fee you are left with $30. See the illustration below.

I am not a very good mathematician but I believe I have been able to pass my point with this. If you choose 50/50 when SBD is worth MORE THAN 1 DOLLAR... your returns will be MUCH Greater than that of the 100% POWER UP OPTION. So when next you are posting, always remember to leave it at 50/50 payout option.

Another advice I have to give is that authors should not upvote more than 10 times a day as this reduces your voting power and the less voting power you have when you give am upvote, the lower your Curation reward for that post you gave an upvote. So when next you are giving an upvote, be damned sure the post is worth that upvote. If you have noticed, sometimes you give an upvote and it is worth $ 0.001 while at other times it might increase. This is because of the voting power you have left. It is the same reason voting bots take at least 2.5 hrs rest after voting so that their voting power might be renewed again.
