Steemit ThunderClap Campaign now at 74% of goal, only more 25 supporters to make it go live!

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

This is the fourth post about the Steemit Thunderclap Campaign and in this post, I'll explain why I've changed the goal from 500 to 100 supporters and why @brendazambrano is at the cover image of this post.

When I started this campaign, I set the bar high and choose to start with the highest goal available (500). I knew that later in the campaign I could change it lowering the bar to two available options, 100 and 250 supporters.

Having that in mind, I've decided that it's time to make this goal achievable and by lowering the bar it may be possible to reach the goal and reach even more audience. Currently, the target audience of the campaign is 239,637 People and I believe that we can reach more than 300,000 people with the social reach of the last 25 supporters we need.

Currently we have 74% of goal supported (74 of 100 supporters)

One thing I've noticed is that people think that thunderclap will floor your friends with spam or messages and this is not what happens. What will happen is only this: Every supporter at 13 Aug at 14:30 will post on their facebook moral, or will tweet the default message. And that's it! It's not an evasive compaign, what will happen is that a lot of people will be posting and tweeting the same thing across social media.

Why not reach out people that said or could bring a lot of audience to the campaign?

Today I was thinking if I could try to reach the recent "celebrities" that arrived on steemit and maybe some friendly whales... Maybe they can understand what's a thunderclap campaign and may be willing to help to add their social reach to the overall campaign by becoming supporters. That's why Brenda Zambrano is on the cover as she said she had a lot of followers, if she has, this is the right campaign to use that social reach.

So I'm giving a shoutout to some names and hoping for the best. Please tag in the comments other names that you may think could help this campaign going forward and even bigger.

@ned @dan @roelandp @allasyummyfood @dollarvigilante @steemdrive @falkvinge @smooth @heiditravels @steemed @federicopistono @brendazambrano @dantheman @etherdesign @larkenrose @fyrstikken @katecloud @berniesanders @pharesim @madbitcoins

With 4 days left, we only need another 25 supporters to reach the goal and make this campaign a success!

if you want the best response to this post across the entire community, I would change the thumb nail to something more neutral.

@james212 check my previous posts about the campaign. But what would you propose for the thumbnail?

Not a Playboy Centerfold. First rule: The wider you cast your net, the more neutral you need to be.

I looked at your previous post as you suggested. I understand you may be frustrated about the community's in-action or inability to see a great marketing opportunity. However, IMO it is never, ever a good idea to do negative posts complaining about inability to achieve.....Never!

In my opinion, what you need to do in this case is: 1) accept that it will take more time and effort than you expected 2) make sure you are targeting properly (ie my comment above) 3) possibly align with other marketing focused community members ...pitch there first and get them behind the idea. Make it a collaborative effort 4) Dedicate more than a few lines (probably a few posts) to expanding on the awesome potential you see for Steemit with this Thunderclap project.

Step back, reframe to try to see why your initiative is not going as planned. The problem is never with the population, it is always a blind spot in the marketing that we're not seeing.

I wish you the best of luck with this. It sounds like a good idea. I believe I already signed up. If not, I'll do so now.

@james212, wise words, thanks for the advice and support

Supported and followed, please follow back :) posted to facebook and tweeted https://twitter.com/Raymonjohnstone/status/763455885524041728

I didn't see my name in that list lol only joking good luck with your campaign

Unfortunately the amount of other social media platforms I use is exactly zero :) I did get some of my family on board though :)

Same here. I gave up on them ages ago.

some tweets... let's see if they reply...

Both twitter accounts from @DollarVigilante and @brendazambranoc gave a like to that tweet. But looks like they haven't supported the campaign YET. Let's see if they bring their audience / followers to the campaign...

@dollarvigilante / @brendazambrano and thomas aka @madbitcoins ? willing to support this?
