Let's try to reach 10 Million: Sign-Up Reward for first 20 Subscribers with highest follower numbers

in #steemit8 years ago

Under my 1.5 million followers there are many who have a large following as well, but who it seems like were not so turned on by the 10 USD reward (I should have said 7 USD...).

So what I want to do is distribute the liquid Steem Dollars which I get from this article proportionally to the 20 people with the hugest follower numbers.

So let us say I get 3000 SBD from this article, then I send out on twitter or facebook that people shall sign up and tweet to their followers their new steemit handle and post their twitter or facebook message link here below.

So let us say that one person has 2 million followers and the other person has 1 million followers. Then both of them post to their followers their new steemit handle, recommending them to sign up as well.
He or She posts this as a comment and I would donate 2000 SBD to person 1 and 1000 SBD to person 2.

In my post on Facebook and Twitter I would say something like the following (suggestions welcome in comments) in spanish:

I am donating 3,000 (the Steem-Dollar amount of this post) USD (Steem Dollar) just for signing up to the steemit social media website Steemit.com. You can then earn much more just by writing articles and introducing yourselves. Do not miss this opportunity!!! I earned in my first intoduction post almost 12,000 USD
The 3,000 USD (Steem Dollars) are distributed proportionally among the 20 people with the highest follower numbers.
Message to your followers: "I just signed up to steemit.com, the facebook replacement which pays you for your good content!"

When you signed up please make a comment below the following article with your tweet or post:
link to this article here in the next 48 hours
"I just signed up, here is my tweet or facebook post: http...."

By him tweeting or posting about it in their accounts, all his/her followers know about steemit as well...

In case less than 1000 Steem Dollars are assigned to this post, please remove your upvote before payout, as I will not do the post with a lesser amount... 58.10 USD total donation would not look good in the facebook post...

By putting out this big reward, I think it will catch the eye of many more persons. And we will only reward the 20 biggest. So if someone sees that he by far has more than others, it would motivate him to do the signup. if we get 20 people with more than a million followers, all the people with less followers would not receive anything though.

A big kiss!

Brenda

So we bait people to the site with the example of your post's earnings? What about the backlash when they don't get anywhere near that amount, or the new users that take the earnings from this campaign and automatically sell them off, helping to drag down the already falling price.

Sorry, I might just be a bit skeptical but I worry we don't have enough established users around here as it is so picking up a ton of new ones will just make everyone feel worse about the unrealized promises/expectations.

I think it is an excellent promotion...

Even if they left... they would have tweeted it already to their followers... So Steem at least would get more known...
I see some of them bitching to their 100.000 followers... Imagine, I only got 500 USD for posting my introduction on Steemit... I prefer posting on Facebook and get nothing!!

(bad publicity is publicity as well) ;)

I agree with robsteady, I think offering money to get people here is may not be the best idea. It may be quick, but the quality of the sign up (as far a staying and contributing power) may not be very good. This is an awesome platform with huge potential that can be leveraged by people in many different ways. I think though it may be slower (but not much slower) and less of a quick bang, but education is the best means of attracting a bigger user base.

PS: That said, I am not worried and about a falling price currently or if the type of promotion stated in this blog is used. I think I am familiar with the founder's (and their team's) mind-sets. I have followed and communicated with them for quite a while. I could be wrong, but my theory, is that price is falling on purpose. It is engineered into the system as a means of delaying lift off so the broadest amount of people can participate in the future success that is likely to come.

I think the falling price you refer to has more to do with the 5000% inflation in the first year. The falling price we see right now is falling much quicker than inflation of 1% daily. The previous project from Dan was tanking as well and never recovered and stayed low (is not dead yet, although Dan talked in an article in past tense regarding the project).

I think Steem is different, the design is much better. And even though it might be better to have a million users instead of 50.000 it is growing steadily in user figures... Something the previous project lacked...

Really great way to spread the word about steemit. It's amazing how a platform which shares rewards can grow so organically. Thanks so much for this!

This is a good way of simplifying the equation for some people. They may be skeptical, but if you give them something up front, there is no reason not to.

Brenda I upvoted and followed. I think it is a great way to add more people to steemit. Come check out my blog @halo. I have always wanted to pose for playboy. If you have any tips please let me know.

Whay down voted?

I think this is not very good
This is another way to earn you money

How would you do it to get some people with huge audiences on board who have never used something else than facebook and twitter? If Steemit had 20 million users than Steemit would be in the billions marketcap already... if you do not like how she wants to achieve it, please propose an alternative solution...

I guess even for @brendazambrano, it is not a guarantee...
