Owning your own content

Last night and today I was hanging out on the STEEMIT SCHOOL discord channel. If you haven't joined yet, you absolutely should if you want to better understand STEEM and the ways to embrace this forum. While they work to formally "have class two times a day" which has been about 10am and 4pm Central Standard time as I'm in Dallas, Texas, even if you aren't there when class is formally going on, there are often people there who are engaging and willing to teach and show you how to use not only STEEMIT, but discord also in interacting with the school. It is well worth spending an hour or two there, believe me, you will look up after awhile and be shocked what time it is!! Join us here: https://discord.gg/CDC3FnS

Have you ever considered that in addition to the content you write in a blog, that the pictures you include also are owned property? Did you pull your image from google or some other source? Why not start creating your own images to include with your own original written content on STEEM? This is just one idea that I have been gifted from interacting with other STEEMers on STEEM School. I love the forum because it helps to bridge the gap in what I really don't understand about STEEMIT. There are so many things to learn and joining the discord has been such a big help for me. I've met many other STEEMers on this and I better understand how to embrace STEEMIT other than just posting a blog here and there.

I really appreciate a post like this bc it can be so difficult for people to grasp something like this as a reality. My so-called friends can't go so far as checking this out for themselves, yet are active users in the FB empire. Getting used to laughing it off rather then being disappointed.
Keep it up!

Thanks for your comments and feedback @stevestrange! Yeah, it is fascinating how unwilling people are to check this space out but they will allow FB to mine their data and lives endlessly without getting anything in return. The reality is this is an entirely new and different "token economy" that those of us who are in it are just starting to understand. The masses will be in our shoes but it will only be when everyone comes in droves. We are starting our journey now as we realize this is the direction life, technology, economics, finance and so many other mediums are heading. The best part of this is when they come over they will be able to jump into our beginner posts as a source of getting started and finding their way. We are in fact creating the infrastructure for them to embrace when they adopt. Keep on moving stones my friend, and let's enjoy this ride together!
