RE: Future of Steem: Five Questions and One Solution

in #steemit8 years ago

Not sure he is advocating 'spamming the planet earth'.

@cuckoo - I think the most important answer to your questions is found in #2. Due to Steemit operating on top of the Steem blockchain, and also given that it is an open source platform, any number of layers can be built using the security, functionality, and economy of the Steem blockchain.

This creates an organic ecosystem that grows and thrives with each new layer carving out more niches of content creators (or whatever other opportunities we haven't thought of yet).

I beg to differ because his whole concept is focused on "upvoting", which says a lot about the way he views the platform.. Now I could be incorrect, but I'm using common sense here.

Why upvote the ISS or any other inatimate object? Why create something for the sole purpose of upvoting it? Even if it were highly profitable it'd be nothing more than a ponzi scheme. Is that not counteractive to the whole purpose of steemit?

With all due respect, correct me if I'm wrong.

Well the upvote is the means by which all value flows in the Steem blockchain, so I completely disagree that his view of the platform is naturally wrong.

If you can't earn from upvotes, all under the security umbrella of the Steem blockchain, this is no better than a baby Reddit with few people.
