Hi again everyone! I am keeping my word to keep the series going!
I would like you to comment with your visual aids or written ideas of what you think Steemit can use to improve the Community for features and why.
Let's do this!
Part of the reason I do this series and share other things / series I do, is for the TON of new people coming to Crypto and Steemit daily, I mention this daily in a post or comment somewhere.
They need help and resources. They feel lost when they are Steemit / Crypto noobs. I know I did.
I had help along the way, and I always remember that and do my best despite my challenges to help people daily and when I can.
The Philosophy of Steemit:
Build a Community. Help One Another.
Blog. Comment. Find Good Content.
Get Paid.
Comments sections here are GOLD as we know, some great TIL learning and tips usually pop up too here.
Comments sections are great learning places for all of us -- but new Crypto folks especially.
We are all early adopters here, if you are even close to reading this today. I say this OFTEN to remind people.
I just love you guys. I haz such the feelz.
Crypto can help so many people.
We can use Blockchain and Crypto for so many great things to help humanity and that is mainly why I am involved, especially with all my past activism against government and police state corruption on the record.....
....but once in awhile it is fun to just joke about everyone going to the moon with lambos and whatnot.
It's important to gather feedback from new crypto and Steemit folks as well as older ones.
Views, Spam, Engagement & Meaningful Comments:
Views and engagement still seem to be down and that is why I try to do so many posts / series to BOOST engagement.
The last while I have been wondering if it simply because we have so many accounts here now.

I was the first person to blog that I am aware of - of us crossing the $300k account mark months ago. The other part of me is thinking -- how many of those are just bots because that is a rising problem?
And if there ARE that many accounts.... one might think the comments section would be growing exponentially with all our posts too, right?

Spam and spammy comments are one of the biggest topics now every single day in the community here and many of us are struggling with it, and how to deal with it.
It's OK to gather new ideas but if the same issues pop up, that is great too, because it will send the message that something is more important to the developers and Steemit Elders.
-- My goal is again - use this blog post as a resource to help the dev's and the community members. I can combine them into one post later on if needed to help developers or members.
It is easily searchable also -- as I use the same key phrases / words etc. in the title to keep it searchable - more easily.
I was trying to pick good tags...... I decided to use the TIL or HOWTO tags -- hoping someone either looking FOR help on learning something -- or someone looking TO help on these things would comment! I thought about that one for a couple mins.
If you want to tag people or share it so others can comment and contribute also, that is great. I have my own ideas and see a lot of people talking about it, but as someone who is NOT - I REPEAT NOT! tech savvy like many of you, and who is relatively newer to the Blockchain and Crypto stuff, I know my role is limited to give ideas, I am just a Fat Minnow LOL.
But I have been an activist for years, I am used to building community and gathering info and trying to help so I guess you can blame the activist side of me for this idea which I think is a good one -- an INTENTIONAL POST on the idea, to gather stuff in one place and be easily searchable and findable for all the IT types and developers etc.
Just my way of trying to contribute. I did not even know for sure what tags to use in this post, and I actually spent 5 mins looking and researching the best ones in the past to try and use, before I posted this LOL. I will edit the tags ASAP if you give me better ones to use!!
Noobs can find the TIL or HowTo tags and nuggets here helpful, as I mentioned earlier here.

I think steemit should add an option to add our own opinions and views to the post we are resteeming - like we do on fb and some other social medias
Yeah that's a good one. I think this every time I hit resteem. Even if it was a limited number of characters would be better than nothing.

I think the homepage of Steemit could use a revamp, I'd like to see different ways of presenting popular tags also putting new tags into the spotlight.
The promote tab doesn't really do much either, I seriously doubt that many people even bother to look at that.
This is of course all stuff that the community can't really help with, so I'll also mention some stuff that we can do ourselves.
I'd like to see more people engage in manual curation instead of delegating all of their Steem power to bots. Automatic curation certainly has it's place, but it would be good that more people would actually use the site instead of automating their voting all the way.

Hello @barrydutton, comments are sort of returning to what they were 3-4 months ago it seems, that seems to of been the last big influx of people and spam bots, In this influx it seems to be made up of more people than bots, not sure about that, but it seems I am having to use my mute button more on people than bots.
I am working with a group of people that are trying to educate new users on how to comment and how to grow on steemit, the newbieresteemday project. It has grown quite a bit and we have helped lift several individuals from 25 rep to the 40 rep in short time frames, and encourage good commenting. By using the #newbieresteemday tag, you will attract attention of some of our members, and new users that are looking for help, or willing to provide help. As a group we try to help those with Quality Content, I myself have turned down helping some because I felt they were bots or just here for a quick buck.
I do not have a problem with the quick buck people, but when they do not even want to listen to basic common sense they get ignored. If you are interested in what has been happening, click the tag #newbieresteemday and look for @mudcat36 or @davemccoy or @beeyou, or @amariespeaks re-steems or their pages.
To conclude, if you think we can help you, or you can help us, or you know of a new user that is looking for help just let one of the above know. If you feel my response is something that you were not looking for let me know, I can always edit or delete it. I hope you are having a better day than some of your past ones.
It is a great comment, on many levels, so no problems.
I already do a lot of this actually on my own, all week on here, helping people and regularly tell them on my blogs, about their comments and what is important and try to be nice to people -- but when they are rude, they get that back.
I feel the same as you. I have UV so many minnows even with half my SP gone, I can get them to 30 rep from 25 in one vote, sometimes 2.
Months ago, I did that 3-5 times a week every week, but all the people I helped just forget about me once they start making a few bucks.
I could take someone to 50 rep, back then in 2 full power votes and did it REGULARLY to help.

It is nice seeing people help out the real new users. There is a lot of minnow help, but a lot of that cost a little sbd here or there, or a full upvote to get help. Thank you for Just helping people.

Lets be honest, majority of the money invested in crypto is from whales. So media shocks everyone that someone scammed somebody (again) and all the whales sell their position, the little fishy losses their shirt and whales come back in and buy low pushing the price back up.

What sort of baffles me right now is, why can't we embed video/audio from Dtube or Dsound yet? I'm not a code guy by any means, but it seems that this should be a top priority for keeping people on the steemit website, while also allowing these other 2 revolutionary platforms that run off steem to function within steemit.com itself.
It doesn't seem like a monetary issue considering there is 2 MILLION SP delegated to Dtube right now. Maybe it's a technical code thing, I'm not sure. It would be great to watch Dtube videos inside steemit though.
