Coping Criticisms
We all go through tough time. We all have detractors. We have insecurities which tend to hold us back from enjoying life and being who we are. It has always been a must to conquer all these or else they will get the best of us and leave nothing but the bad. But these things are easier said than done.
Filipina beauty titlist Catriona Gray was a victim of not only criticism, as well as bashing and bullying. What I admired her most is that she only shrug her shoulders so that she would not be affected. Truly, she is my idol and an epitome of beauty, finesse and resiliency.
Seldom do we find the goodness in criticism. One of my mentors told me that it is called constructive criticism. However, it does not depend on the things said or how the person said it, it's how the listener accepts and responds to it.
I am rooting for Catriona for the upcoming Philippine beauty pageant this coming March. Hoping to win the much-coveted Miss Universe crown. Bring home the bacon Cat!
Criticisms differ on the intentions of the people who said them. There are criticism that would actually help us improve. There are also criticisms that are nothing but distractions from people who envy the persons we are now.
Distractions and criticism are part of life.....accept it! If there's one person who knows you inside and out, it's you and you alone. So whatever people may say, you know that you are better judge. You may listen but choose not to believe. Everything is just a matter of choice.
That's why I tried to decipher Mariah Carey's song "Can't Take That Away" savoring the lyrics.....hahaha
Like what Abraham Lincoln once said, the moon keeps on shining even if all the dogs keep on barking at it. So why not be the moon? When all are barking at you, just keep shining just like my idol Catriona competing again on a national beauty pageant this March.
