Oh Mother Africa

LETTER TO MOTHER AFRICA

Dear Africa,

It's been a long while,
How have you been?
Hope you remained agile?
I hope you weren't tossed around and thrown like a bin?

Tossed and thrown by those you love,
For the sacrifices you made to see them all grown,
Have they thrown it back at your face with love?
Have they risen up against you, revolted and have you thrown?

Africa, thou mother of them all,
You strapped them to your back when their feet barely made the hall,
You embraced them and wiped their tears,
Even when they fail, you casted away their fears.

Mother, see now!
Your children are grown but they have forgotten you taught them how.
They lead with strife, anger and wrath,
Forgetting you picked them up when they sinked and rot.

They forgot your advices, training and grooming,
They live life as though they are only started blooming.
They forgot that soon, they shall grow old,
Then, on the things they see, they shall have no hold.

Tell them mother!
That they have laid truth to death and in their action lies murder.
Tell them mother to change their ways,
Lest they become a saying that the wise one says.
