Have you heard a device that is made to have certain functions but has no direct purpose? Hmm.

Let me share you this Useless Nixie Device, a device that allows you to

connect 16 different sockets for several dozen nixie tubes and enjoy to watch your tubes in action.

Anyway, if you are a nixie tube enthusiast,

this project will be the perfect complement for your desk.

Basically, it will just give you an awesome display in you desk.

The 'Useless Nixie Device' may well be useless but, it's certainly a useless gadget that I would just love to tinker around with for several hours.

I think it looks fantastic, using the old style cold cathode tubes to display it's characters by way of a warm glow.

To say it is truly useless, would probably not be totally true. If you had a load of old compatible tubes, would it not be useful as a tester, maybe?

I bet this could be hacked to display what you wanted it too. That would be fun, especially with a few of these linked together.
