I recently read that 1.6 billion tons of food is thrown away globally every year and this stat is projected to rise to over 2 billion tons by 2030. Restaurant kitchens all around the world end up with unused food everyday that needs to be thrown out, and the same goes for grocery stores. In the meantime, our landfills are polluted with food waste while millions of people go hungry.

In an effort to fight this global food waste crisis, Too Good To Go has stepped in to help restaurants keep leftover out of the lanfills by selling surplus food very cheap through a free smartphone app - available on Android and iOS

This is a win win deal all the way: the environment wins, users win and restaurant owners win.

Wow! Great hunting friend, I love the idea that food is no longer wasted thanks to the help of Too Good To Go and it will not happen anymore more.

Good luck with your hunt @sylviaspence

@crazydani, I love the idea as well.

What a great initiative the creators of this application have, it seems to me an excellent idea, the only thing that is missing is that it expands to many more countries in the world to be a total success.

You are so right. I am glad to have found out about this app. I can see it being used to donate food to homeless shelters and food pantries and like You, I can hardly wait for it expanded to other countries which the developers are planning to do. I myself would like to enjoy some 5* restaurant food at reduced prices from time to time

I think it is a gpod idea. Instead of wasting them, why not sell them cheap. It is truly a win win situation and restuarant owners make money instead of throwing the food away.
