Basically Lighthouse is a low cost robot that can travel inside underground water pipes and proactively find leaks. Currently, water utilities cannot find leaks before they grow into costly pipe bursts. With Lighthouse, we can find leaks months before they break. Amazing isn't it!
It was created after 6 years of research.

It can be put into pipes from any T junction or hydrant, and inspect the pipes without interruption to water service.

It then moves passively with the flow, goes around pipe bends easily, and logs its position and leak information as it goes.

The robot collects the data that can be download the data from the robot wirelessly and coverted into a map showing leakages.

It won the "James Dyson best robot of 2018 " award.

Pros: No digging is required, and there is no need for any interruption of the water service.
