Peer Tube is an open-source, decentralized and secure video hosting network. You can either join other hosting providers or even set up your own network. Its based on pure freedom so you are your own boss.

open source projects are always cool. Per tube means peer to peer? hmmm everyone can host? huh i don't get this can i host my own video server? :o This hunt seems simple but its not man😅
I really like the number of de-centralised video platforms coming to the market. Not sur which on will stay and which ons will have a relatively short liftime. PrTub created a recognisable name, hence did something good from marketing point of view. I suppose, all those who are in creating video content shall check this on out and see if it fits the bill.
This is really great to see especially at a time where we are battling for our freedom and privacy. Demonitization is a real threat to content creators and this is what we really need Great hunt!!
Sounds like sort of an IPFS that is only catering to video sharing. It also reminded me of BitTorrent with upload/download speeds. I only checked out one video and things went smooth. Having more of these technologies developed and have them learn from each other will be a very good strategy for the future.
The best part is the level of accessibility that hides most of the back end stuff and let users try out and enjoy the platform.
Congrats on Curie trail vote! I will still prefer to use YouTube to post videos as a very few people get noticed on decentralized networks because only some percentage of people know about such stuff while YouTube is flooded with all type of users and viewers. This would be worth trying as the future is based on such decentralized networks.
Nice Hunting!
Is it like dtube where you can upload your videos and earn a
reward, or it is a hosting provider like Hostgator, GoDaddy or name cheap? Glad it is opensource.
I don't know how well the people who make content on Youtube earn money. In this platform, you can earn money according to the number of views, subscribers and other factors that come to almost the same function as youtube. If you have different and people-watched content, you can make good money if this platform is evaluated in the future.
I've said it before and the open source projects I'm passionate about and this is not the difference, the idea is very good and taking it to reality is great, thanks for sharing
That's a great thing to host videos on Decentralized Platform but I am afraid as we all know Peer-to-Peer Videos Hosting platforms promote Piracy of videos/Movies as we can see on Torrent which is very famous. So, Can you tell me How it is different from other platforms like Torrent/uTorrent?
Thank you and Have a Good day!
