An October place and other THOUGHTS 😅

Today I had a reason to write about another topic, two other topics in fact, but they are not entirely pleasant, so I postponed them. Indeed, here is the place (the only one at that) where I can write about everything that excites, worries and hurts me, but let me give you a little breather too 😅

So, now I'm processing some photos and describing them, they're from an October a few years ago. (Oh my God, October is coming!) And while I was looking for their exact locations on the map, I came across the one hotel we stayed at that time.

In addition, have you noticed how memories/thoughts, sometimes, like ordinary programs, return exactly on certain days of the year, triggered by the most ordinary things - as Jung describes these cases with smells that cause a surprising return of memories, but in this case it is just the calendar.

IMG_20250921_085557.jpg

That is, approaching the date when something happened or was experienced sometime in the past makes that memory come back to mind on or around that exact date... how simple is the mechanism of human thoughts too. Jung also says, and not only him, that thoughts and emotions are something that does not come from us, but is outside of us, it is simply the frequency we are on that captures these thoughts/emotions, we are like a radio that picks up signals, a simple radio in an otherwise so complex (or at least we think so) organism.

And now refute me that we were not originally programmed to suffer, that we did not come here precisely for this reason - to live in Hell, even if it is simply called "personal Hell", and not a public cauldron in which everyone is immersed together...

Forgive me for this lyrical digression, it's simply because I, like a simply programmed mechanism, cope with life by simply replacing one pain with another to distract myself from the previous one... it's that simple (and easy) for a person to cope with life. 😂

Anyway, enough of that, let me get to the point. But in the meantime, you've had time to familiarize yourself with the site. 😄

So, it was an early October day when we arrived here. It was raining. I had even asked my partner to bring me my winter jacket, coming to the coast - I had come a few days earlier. October is a very tricky off-season month. Or rather, the coast is a tricky place.

I have wanted to live on the coast for a long time, if I still have to live in Bulgaria (and I do, obviously). But that was before I found out about the special climate there. And also about the special people (not particularly nice, but are there any good people in this country at all?)

(I'm making these deviations so I can post as many photos as possible 😄)

So, it was a rainy October day in early October. And I was amazed, you can imagine, when I walked into that foyer, that lobby. Surely there was a hint of that atmosphere on the website where we pre-booked our hotel stays back then.
And yet, to physically be in this place, to be surrounded by such an environment, it is truly something special that has to be experienced, it cannot be described.
I was like a little child caught in a fairy tale. I even took a selfie in an old mirror in this lobby, although in principle one should not do this with public mirrors that have seen so much, let alone antique ones.

So, it was a cold October day when we arrived at the Sirena Palace Hotel in the resort town of Obzor.
How much is it a Palace, it's one thing, but you've already seen the Siren.

Now I went to their website and it says: Elegant Family Hotel in the spirit of Provence.
Well, things are really very relative, because this elegance is currently offered for only about 33 euros, which is not at all realistic. It is true that it is already off-season. Then, years ago, it was also off-season. But I don't remember the price being so low.
Prices in Bulgaria are never low when it comes to hotels, let alone those on the coast. Not to mention the capital, where I will soon have to visit again for health reasons, and I constantly postpone it, precisely because of the expensive stay.

IMG_20250921_085654.jpg

I even remember back then that there were two prices in the price list - one for Bulgarians and another for foreigners, which, you know, is illegal within the EU, although perhaps it is a bit fair, considering that salaries in Bulgaria are the lowest in the entire union, and the prices for some things are the highest...

So, are you tired yet? Because I am. 😃 I went to eat, thinking that it would give me some new energy. But I still have enough pictures, so I'll leave the continuation for another post. Actually, there's not that much to say anymore, it's mainly visual, but still.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

Very special and maybe singular in the world - but it does not hit my taste...

Bei CG Jung findet sich viel Anregendes, aber die Beschäftigung mit seinen Ansichten ist ein Spiel mit dem Feuer.

There probably aren't two hotels that are alike, but you know there's this expression: a standard hotel, when you enter the lobby, your room, and you just don't care where you are, nothing impresses you, even if the furniture is new, everything is neat and arranged well and tastefully. But when you step into something unique, it can't help but impress you. Individuality and authenticity, even if it's not exactly to my taste, is what can impress me, personally.
Regarding Jung, such theories about thoughts and emotions are something written by many, even spiritual teachers, there is even a Bulgarian one who has said similar things, who was recently declared a sectarian by the church.😄But otherwise I think it's better Jung than to quote Schopenhauer, a favorite one in my gloomy days...😅

In your gloomy days, you should (perhaps) better read Pascal.
