Since the 11th of November 2024, after the proclamation of the General Elections Winners, Mauritius is breathing again!!!
The recent happenings in Mauritius is really a big lesson to any country leader who has been elected to take care of their population but doing the contrary....
Fresh Air after 10 years...
The last 10 years were catastrophic for the whole country, specially on the Human side of things...
The island was no more a Real Democracy and we were gearing towards an Autocracy - A simple google search on indexes for countries around the world will show you how bad my country was performing!
The General Elections of 2019 looked shady but this time the whole country acted like Policemen to make sure the elections were free and fair!!!
The opposition party won all 60 seats of the Assembly!!!
I know this is not a great thing to do for a democratic country...but this year was special and we all needed to get rid of the Government in place!
The Mauritians showed the world that if any governing body acts wrong with its population...TOGETHER, THE WHOLE NATION CAN PUT THEM OFF THEIR SEAT WITH THEIR VOTE!!!
Went out celebrating the victory with my family and Rheem of course!
We are all still in such an amazing mood here in Mauritius...we feel liberated, we feel free!
On the day of the win, I brought my family to participate in the celebrations. So happy that my daughter could experience this wonderful thing.
I experienced same victory when I was same age as her!!! History repeating itself...maybe!
