RE: Steemocracy

in #steememe8 years ago (edited)

I wrote a community encouragement post today, got 5 or more flags, killed the rep and payout, and I had a lot of time and thought into it but who cares, about encouraging content right that is then worth $1?

It was a failed experiment and these flags, with no start or end date, or announcement, are driving good people off here daily.

Sure, it may be bad for business. But the law of the land is upvotes, downvotes, and discourse. I'm contributing freely without any expectations, which is why I don't mind if anyone has me downvoted or did some bs experiment. Ultimately there's really nothing to be pissed about because it's all entirely voluntary, but of course, discourse is still important and it's a good point for whales to consider for how most will think about flags / downvotes.. Thanks for that post :)
