Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, Steemit community. I was moved to share a lesson I learned from a pastor/friend about fifteen years ago that I still remember today on how important it is to be thankful.

In the Bible, 2 Timothy, chapter 3 verses 3 through 5:

There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good... have nothing to do with them.

Who among us would choose ungrateful in a list of character traits of the worst people in the end times? But there it is, included in the inspired word. This should be a clue to all of us about how important it is to be thankful. Not that it would prevent the end times, but that we would exhibit traits that He would see as commendable in His children.
