FAITH IS AN ACT

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.(- James 2:17)

Faith is an act! This is a very important feature of faith. It is what releases the virtue that gets things done. Acting what you believe and confess is what turns on the virtue for performance (Lk. 1:45).

Turn On The Switch
I learnt in school that every electrical appliance has a switch. Though current is loaded in the system, it takes you first turnmg on the switch for the appliance to offer its services. For example, If I want the fan turned on so it can cool the room, no matter how much confession I make, the words of my mouth cannot turn the switch on. To enjoy the cooling benefit of the fan, I must act by turning on the switch. Without that action of turning on the switch, though current is loaded in the fan, and evewthing is set, I can't enjoy the cooling effect of the fan.

Unfortunately, however, issue of faith to a war of words in the Charismatic circle. We speak so much, and act not at all! We confess and confess, until we are confused! Bu kes an act to release the current of faith. The woman with the issue of blood took a step, and the healing current was released. Blind Bartimaeus was heard calling out to Jesus for help. He didn't just say, "I know someday Jesus would pass by this street." He took steps to reach Jesus, and the current for the restoration of his sight was released.

In Mark chapter 2, four men let down a man through the roof of the building, and Jesus saw their faith in their action, and healed their sick friend. Their action portrayed their faith, and the healing current was released. Jesus said to the sick man, "Son, thysms are forgiven thee.. .Arise, and take thy bed, and go thywayinto thine house" (Mk. 2:3-11).

A Definite Act...

Every release of divine virtue is traceable to a definite act Without an act, there can be no release Of virtue.
Confession is cheap; it is profession that is tough. There is what the Bible calls the profession of our faith (Heb. 10:23). professing your faith is what releases the virtue; that is, behaving it, living it and acting it. You can speak from now till tomorrow, but until you turn on the switch for the release of current, your fan will not work. But without saying a word, a mere act of turning the switch on will cause the fan to work.

Can you imagine the task of using your hand to turn your fan on? But many in the Body of Christ need refreshing, and are engaging human and physical efforts to cool their lives. _lt takes an act of faith to enjoy divine refreshing.

Faith is an act; and it is that act that compels the release of virtue, which we later celebrate as testimonies. For example, one of the great pillars of our ministry is prosperity or supernatural wealth. But what does it take to enjoy covenant prosperity?

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.(- Deuteronomy 8:18)

The power to get wealth is released on the platform of the covenant; that is, on the platform of you doing your part. Until your path is done, that power cannot be released. You cannot pray prosperity on, neither can you fast your way into it; you have to act out the covenant to enjoy it.

If you look at Abraham's life, you will see faith in action: "So Abram departed. " (Gen. 12:4). Every release of virtue is traceable to a definite act of faith. The profession of your faith will always lead to the demonstration of power in the spirit, as God will always respond to your profession. When you keep professing it, you will soon begin to manifest it You cannot speak your current on; simply turn on the switch.

God is moving the Church from the realms of confession of faith to the realms of profession of faith. As she lives and acts it, divine virtue will keep flowing, causing testimonies to keep abounding. Our profession commits God, but our act is what compels Him to perform.

Each arrival of heavenly temperance is traceable to a positive demonstration Without a demonstration, there can be no arrival Of ideals.
