STEEMCHURCH - GROWING IN FAITH

My humble greetings to the great Parishioners of steemchurch and increasing grace to you all.

My warm appreciation goes to @Sirknight for giving us the opportunity to share the gospel here on the blockchain (through Steemchurch - the first church of the blockchain) and to the Apostles for their helping hands.

I've prepared a different topic this time. One which is important for our spiritual growth, for the aim is that we may continue to grow in the revelation of God's Word. Enjoy the read!

WHAT IS FAITH?

The book of Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 describes faith as the the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things that are not seen. It is a supernatural gift of God which enables us to believe without seeing (or doubting) what God has said or revealed.

It is an important tool for the growth of every Christian or believer. It was through this essential element that our fathers

THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH

By Faith, we become sons of Abraham and we reap the blessings that proceeds therein. Through this substance, we believe that the world was created by the Word, that is, the seen was birthed out of the unseen.

The Scripture also stated that Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness. Hence, it was emphasized that the just shall live by Faith (Habakkuk 2:4). For this reason, it is written "without faith, we cannot please God".

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
Hebrews 11:6.

Our salvation is fully dependent on Faith because "we are saved by Grace through faith for it's the gift of God".

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
John 3:15-16.

Hence, we can conclude that in the absence of faith, our foundation is threatened, hence such individuals perish. When we believe, we shall have everlasting life.

Furthermore, John 3:18 says that

he that believeth in God is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

When we believe in His name, condemnation is far away from us. When we believe in His name, we shall be saved, for there's no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus.

Believing ushers us into His family, we become the body of Christ when we believe. We are empowered when we believe.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
John 1:12.

OVERCOMING FEAR

We are more than conquerors, overcomers in this world, we are made victorious through our faith in God. If our victory is contingent on our faith and it's absent, what then is left of us?

Fear depicts the absence of faith. It's "False Evidence Appearing Real". In the presence of fear, we cannot experience joy for it threatens our faith and our salvation.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Therefore, we must learn not to cast away our confidence
2 Timothy 1:7.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. On the other hand, fear comes by hearing, but hearing by the words of the devil.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Romans 10:10-11, 17

Think positively. Talk positively (in accordance to His Word). For as a man thinkeths in his heart, so is he. The Scripture says "be it unto you according to your faith".

Finally, we must learn to grow in faith. Growth in faith is only possible when we build Intimacy with God's Spirit and study His Word often.

I leave us with this rhetorical question to ponder upon.

Luke 18:8 Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Sort:

We come into Sonship under Christ by believing. We obtain grace by believing. Hence, faith is necessary and growth in it is much more important.
Thanks for sharing with Us @STEEMCHURCH!

Faith is that which can save us from all our wrong doings and it can save us from the work of the evil one.
With faith we get favour from God and do what he wants us to do and with faith we are able to give God all the glory through his merciful heart.
Have faith in him and expect the greatest thing in your life.

The bible also said the just shall live by faith, and by having faith we can move mountains command trees to wither, by faith Sarah was at her late 90s and she beat menopause to give birth, by faith Jesus walked on water by faith, He fed five thousand, by faith Elijah was taken up to heaven by a chariot.
We are very strong if our faith is unwavering.

We very much need for God to give us Jesus Christ’s own faith, through the power of God’s Spirit.

We should regularly be asking for that faith. We shouldn’t just assume that He’ll automatically give us more faith if we’re not asking for it.

God is watching to see just how much we want more faith. He wants to see how important it is to us. So we need to ask for faith.

So how do we dishonor God by a lack of faith? When we disbelieve God, we are in essence saying to God, “I don’t really believe You’ll do exactly what You say you will do. And I don’t really believe that You are what You say You are.”
The Christian faith is founded on faith, and of course is sustained by faith -- faith in Christ -- His consummated work on the cross. Truly, faith comes (and is being nourished) by hearing, and hearing of the word of God

Faith is an unshakable belief in God and the promises of God. Faith also involves God’s commands. We’re expected to put such confidence in everything God tells us to do that we actually do it!

So how do we dishonor God by a lack of faith? When we disbelieve God, we are in essence saying to God, “I don’t really believe You’ll do exactly what You say you will do. And I don’t really believe that You are what You say You are.”

And God’s response to that is, “I am a promise-keeping God!”

So a lack of faith insults God. God has never failed once—He’s always kept the promises He’s made to human beings. And He always will! (Provided, of course, that we meet the conditions He outlines.)

Faith is one of the key qualities God is looking for in us, so it only makes sense that we make sure we have it.

The apostle Paul wrote about the connection between faith in God and love for man, declaring that faith without love is useless, and teaching that whenever
genuine faith is present, the trait of love for our neighbor will also be found and though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and have all knowledge, and though I might have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2

Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, faith is a great tool when it is posessed by a believer it is said and confirmed that without faith it is impossible to please God, and faith cometh by hearing and constantly hearing the word of God .
So how do we dishonor God by a lack of faith? When we disbelieve God, we are in essence saying to God, “I don’t really believe You’ll do exactly what You say you will do. And I don’t really believe that You are what You say You are.”

God wants us to have faith and to increase our faith.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, the Bible says we receive supernatural help from the Holy Spirit. This growth is spiritual growth, growing in faith. At the moment we receive Christ as our Savior, we are born again spiritually into God's family.

Without faith, how can we please God?
The Bible said it's impossible.

I agree with you on this @richy. To please God you have to always nurture your faith and grow in it. Having doubts about God makes it look like He's not capable. Growth in faith is vital in our fellowship with God. Awesome inspiration @richi
