Don't Edit God's Words

in #steemchurch7 years ago

A wonderful Sunday to you my fellow steemians. Today's topic is a very important one, as the children of Israel prepared to enter the promised land, this principle was established to them.
Don’t add to or take away from the words of God.

Deuteronomy 12:32

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

The last book of the canon was also ended by John where he made similar statements.
Revelation 22:18-19

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Today, humans have got so many challenges in life, the community we live in has deviated us from the word of God. Thereby we are living in a culture that consistently seems to add to and take away from God’s Word.
Take a good look, the book of Genesis is a direct passage for us to learn from today. But so many writers attempt to perform amazing “linguistic gymnastics” in order to to fit the notion of billions of years into the book of Genesis 1.
God made it clear to us that he created earth in 6 literal days, but people regularly attempt to add to that message.

Now today also. God told us that when we die we shall surely face judgement and give account of how we have spent our lives here on earth. But many Bible teachers seem to want to skip that part of the message away for fear of offending followers and members, just to get so many followers. It will be more blessing to us and to them if they should communicate with the direct word God has given to us without subtracting or adding to it in any form.

My fellow steemians i believe you all have learnt a little lesson from God's word today. I felt i should write on this topic today Sunday, so that while we are in church, we should take note of not being deceived by any man.
God has given us the exact, precise message that we need for life. It behooves us to know and heed every last word!
God bless you.
HAPPY SUNDAY
THANKS FOR READING

God's words are not for us to edit and tinker with, but to believe and obey...it can be so hard when we don't understand God's plan for us, but we need to trust Him!

Don't allow someone, who has added to and taken away from God's word, to lead you. Open your eyes and read God's word for yourself.

The fall of man resulted from adding to God's word. Eve was only told not to eat of the fruit but out of zeal she added that God commanded not to touch and that was how satan the devil found a loophole

This is a wonderful post @odiaprecious
The Bible strictly commanded us not to add or subtract from God's word.

Yes, the word of God can not be changed because his word is powerful. From the spoken word from his mouth, this world was created, that is how might his word is. Thanks for the update.

We are very blessed to have the word of God to guide us and to teach us about our salvation through Christ Jesus that we may have eternal life.

The word of God is always a wish and command, so if a command is changed in direction what do u think it will happen

Gods word is not some form of literature that people shoulf edit to maybe publish.
It should be reverenced. And held in high esteem.

Good one this time around thanks for giving us this one .
We shall all enter the promise land

Great reminder! How timely. I commented on another Christian post who used the story of the disciples and their inability to cast out the boy possessed with demons. Jesus says (paraphrase) these kinds do not come out except by prayer and fasting. But some modern translation actually omit the word "fasting." I believe we can google and do a translation search and learn what is taken or added to God's Words through various translation. It is such a fearful thing for a person add or take away from the Word!

Absolutely right my friend.
Am really delighted to see such an amazing comment.
