COMMITMENT AIN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE
Remember the old days? When you don't miss church service when you were highly committed to God, but gradually your love for God is waxing cold as the days goes by. You could remember how you do attend the church service 6 of every 7 Sundays. But sadly, it seems that the commitment is gone, and we only attend church about half the time (about 2 Sundays per month), and the less-committed attend even less than that. What has gone wrong?

Proverbs 3:5-8
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
This is a tragic departure, and all over the world seem to be showing the exact same trend. People just don’t seem to be all that “into” God anymore. Every person you see today are busy than ever, nobody wants to pay attention to the things of God anymore, and things are not going to work that way. Others have been disillusioned by churches or other “religious” people, so they use that as a “medium” for why they do not want to attend church any longer.
Sundays have become a day of fun, you see people going out there to play football, golf and all of that, instead of getting yourself ready and go to church to learn the word of God that will save your soul.
Reasons why you should go to church(THE BIG DEAL)
The local church is a central part of God’s strategic plan for your spiritual growth.
Some people always say it's not about going to church that makes you a true Christian. Technically ill say yes. But God's plan is way farther than that.
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Now, this scripture is bringing God's idea to us, rather than just a mans idea. A person who would say, I don’t need the church, to me that is a departure from God’s plan. I would advise against that.Do not take that as your example.
You are basically a composite of the five people with whom you spend the most time.
I talked about this some time ago if you followed up with my post of recent time.
Today I could easily see how people are being influenced, not just the youth, but even the adult are also influenced too, by their friends and the people with whom they spend time with.
It's high time you come to believe that we are basically a composite of the five people with whom we spend the most of our time with. This is why we need to be in church when it's called for, we need to choose to right people there that will draw us more closer to God than unbelievers.
Apostle Paul taught us to encourage ourselves.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Weekly ministry in a local church helps to build up your spiritual muscles.
When our spiritual gifts are being used by serving the local church community, we gradually become better-grounded theologically. we would no longer see ourselves as children who are being tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine that comes our way, by the trickery nature of men.
Ephesians 4:14
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
This indeed is my favorite post of the day!....Commitment ain’t what it used to be, thanks for preaching on this topic, as all Christians should learn a word or two from this post...

I agree with you in past everyone used to pray according to their religion .. but these days wveryone is busy
Let me make this clear. The definition of being committed is not just trying, being interested, or promising that it will be done someday, sometime, somewhere. The true definition of being committed is getting things done with absolutely no excuses, an unshakeable and undeniable passion and an uncompromising integrity.
Well, just like you said, it's not going to church that makes you a Christian. However, being in church helps you grow. The bible says, iron sharpeneth iron and as such you should go to church to edify others, as well as be edified yourself.
You are absolutely right, the zeal is dwindling to be pro active in church!
I support you on this one, don't love the things of word because if you do, you don't love your God
I totally agree with you @odiaprecious things has really change people going to church late and sometimes they don't even go at all but if it was there working place they will have commitment to the work and letting God's works down so bad and painful
For me, I am more committed than ever. About 8 years ago, I read in Leviticus two verses that said the blood and the fat, they are mine and they are Holy. In those two verses God put the same weight or value on the fat and the blood. This peaked my interest. I asked the Lord what the fat represented. I believe it represents our best. We give our best to everything. Jobs, family, hobbies. God gets what is left over. So my best is when I first get up and have a cup of coffee. Since that time, I get up at 3 AM and give my best to God. It is our time!
Church fellowship is super important as you said so well.
Being a witness! Telling others about Jesus! Our part of the Great Commission! So much joy and fulfillment!
Thank you and God bless!
Thank you for your post, it is very wonderful to read about God's place. Thus, many people go away for a long time from the temple of the Lord for different occupations, we must be spokespersons to take them back to where they belong. God bless you.
