IN THE WORLD, AND NOT OF THE WORLD
John 17:11-12
11 And though I am not in the world, these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Father most holy, preserve them in your name, those whom you have given to me, so that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I preserved them in your name. I have guarded those whom you have given to me, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
Good morning friends in Christ, hear the gentle voice of Jesus speaking to you this moment, "my child, you are in the world, but not of the world. Don't get entangled! Don't get corrupt! Don't compromise!"
Brethren, we need to constantly remind ourselves that we are not of this world, otherwise we will forget.
If you sit back and observe closely, you will discover that the gap between believers and the world is gradually closing up. The contamination, stains and corruption of this world affect us without us being aware of it, and when it does begin to manifest in our lives, we assume it is the actual way of life.
This is the reason why a child of God who is not decently dress would argue "there is nothing wrong about my dressing." You will see a believer by action indicate that there is nothing wrong in selling fake items ,repackaged as original. In fact, they would say there is nothing wrong in removing the original part that a product came with and replacing it with a fake one with the intention of selling the original part. Dear child of God, be bold tell yourself the truth, "there is something wrong "
Brethren, counseling ourselves truthfully would let us know that :it is not a fashion trend, but a promotion indecency and immodest dressing :it is not flexing with many cars, but an uncontrollable passion for cars.
A true understanding of who we are and where we are going will help us a lot. Jesus taught us that when temptation comes calling we should say "I am not of this world "
St Alphonsus Maria de Liguori admonished us thus :
"Many however, give themselves to God, but preserve still in their hearts some attachment to creatures, which prevents them from belonging entirely to God."
Let Us meditate on these words and have a blessed day

It underscores the idea of maintaining a harmonious balance between engagement with the external world and preserving one's inner values and authenticity. This dichotomy encourages individuals to navigate the complexities of life while staying true to their core beliefs and principles.
