STEEMCHURCH: DON'T forget the main thing
Legend has it that a poor woman with a child in her arms, passing in front of a cavern, heard a mysterious voice that said:
-Enter and take everything you want, but do not forget the main thing.
Remember something: after you leave, the door will close forever. So, take the opportunity, but do not forget the main thing
-The woman entered the cave and found many riches. Fascinated by the gold and the jewels, she put the child on the floor and began to gather anxiously, as much as she could in her apron.
The mysterious voice spoke again:
-You only have eight minutes. Exhausted the eight minutes
-The woman laden with gold and precious stones, ran out of the cave and the door closed ... He remembered, then, that the child was there and the door was closed forever.
Wealth lasted little and despair ... for the rest of his life.
The same happens, sometimes, with us. We have about 80 years to live, in this world, and a voice always warns us:
-Don't forget the main thing !!
-And the main thing is spiritual values, prayer, vigilance, family, God. But the gain, the wealth, the material pleasures, fascinate us so much that the main thing always stays aside ... Thus we exhaust our time here, and we leave aside the essential! The treasures of the soul !
May we never forget that life in this world passes quickly and that death arrives unexpectedly. And when the door of this life closes for us, lamentations will be worth nothing.
Matthew 6: 25-34: Therefore I say to you: Do not worry about your life, what you have to eat or what you should drink; nor for your body, what you have to wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the sky, which do not sow, if they reap, nor gather into barns; and your Father Celestrial feeds them. Are you not worth much more than them?
And who among you can, however much he may choose, add an elbow to his stature?
And for the dress, why do you worry? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they do not work or spin, but I tell you, not even Solomon with all his glory dressed himself as one of them.
Do not worry, for saying: What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear? Because the Gentiles seek all these things; But celestial Father knows that you need all these things.
