`Relative’, a very common word we use in our everyday conversations, yet a whole realm of theories when it comes to the world of physics. I was in grade 7 when I first heard of this exciting concept, it intrigued me to an extent where I used to spend half a day searching for facts related to this marvellous idea introduced by sir Isaac Newton, later on developed by the Elbert Einstein. Syllabus of modern Physics till date has modified drastically, little do we realize these forces of nature were discovered way back by these men with brains which make perfect sense till date.
Theory of relativity, in laymen terms, states, “The laws of physics are the same for all observers in uniform motion relative to one another.” The secret of mother nature exposed in a few ordinary sentences. As a child I always wanted to grow up and study cosmology or something fancy like astrophysics, but pursuing these fields meant having a sound knowledge of mathematics and an excellent know-how of the laws governing us. String theory, time dilatation theory, black holes...these ostentatious terms made me fall in love with this particular branch of mordern physics until I grew up to realize, the secrets of nature are far vast than we can ever unleash. Why? One might question. This all was created by a higher deity, which needs no support or help. I stopped wanting to make a career out of these fields, it only made me realize how insignificant I was on the face of this universe. Till date, I’m a keen explorer of the secrets of this universe, as the Pakistani poet Iqbal has said,

“ Other worlds exist beyond the stars—
More tests of love are still to come. This vast space does not lack life—
Hundreds of other caravans are here.”

Albeit, we can never truly uncover the conundrum of universal totality, we can take a minute out of our monotonous routine and loose ourselves into the voids of these complex cosmos to get a mere glimpse of God’s perfection and be grateful to His highness.

May God help us in finding the true meaning of our existence and give us the insight to understand the purpose of our being which is to be of service to His mankind and thank Him in times of happiness and ask him for forgiveness in times of distress.

Amen.
