STEEMCHURCH: WHAT DO WE FEEL ABOUT MONEY?

We will be dealing with the issue of money. And money is a barometer of spirituality because the way you use money is an indication of the Christian administration of your life. More than anything else, money is in your hands. You are constantly using the money, you pay bills constantly, you sign checks, you receive checks, you go to save, you go to the bank, you take out your wallet, you put change in this and that. Money is something constant. And money management is a critical area of life, and the Bible has a lot to say about this.

In fact we are going to see God's plan of how we should see and manage the money and its administration.

The Bible says a lot about how we feel about money. He says we should not love him. In 1 Timothy 6 in verse 10 it says, "For the love of money is the root of all evil." We should not love money. Now, that is not
something easy because it surrounds us all the time.

Another thing the Bible says about how we feel about money is that we should not trust money. This is not to place our trust in our money. In 1 Timothy 6:17 it says, "He commands the rich of this world not to trust in riches, in their riches." So trusting in money is idolatry. Even when you derive your sense of security from the money you say God provides for you, even so, that is idolatry. In Matthew 6:24 it says, "You can not serve two masters." You can not serve the true God and money. That kind of divided loyalty does not work.

That is the reason why when the Bible presents the requirements for an elder, he says, "He can not be a man who
he is greedy. "Because you can not serve God and money. Not only that, but the Bible tells us that we should not seek to be rich, we should seek to honor God. If He wants to make us rich, that is His business. We should seek to work as hard as we can, to do our best for His glory. If He wants to make us rich in response to that, that depends on Him.

What does the Bible say about how we earn money or how do we get the money?

It says a lot. We must not steal it. That is a no, no. We can not steal money. You say, "I would never do that." Listen to Psalm 37:21, "The wicked borrows and does not pay." There are many ways to steal. In fact in Amos 8: 5 and Hosea 12: 7 the prophets speak of falsifying what was owed and then deceiving someone, no, you should not steal money. In fact I am sure that God always keeps us from falling into any of these situations.

Second, we should not exploit others by applying usury. In other words, we should not take advantage of desperate people. If your brother has need, you give it to him to satisfy his need. You do not lend what you need to have and then charge you exorbitant rates of interest. That is applying usury.

how do we spend the money?

First of all we must provide for the needs of our family, and the needs of those around us. 1 Timothy 5: 8 says that if a man does not provide for his people, it is worse than an unbeliever. Those are pretty serious words. And John said in 1 John 3, he says that if you see your brother having need and you do not meet his need you are not even a Christian. How does the love of God dwell in you? Then you must spend your money for your needs and the
needs of your home, your family and the needs of those around you who have needs.

And do you know one thing? That's what John meant when he said in 1 John 3, "When you see your brother having a need and you do not give him what he needs. How does the love of God dwell in you? "In other words, your Christianity manifests itself on the same level as the fact that you give money to the man who needs it or not.

Offering

The Bible also speaks of offering or free gift, of free offerings. Now, when we see the book of Genesis and see from the very beginning the voluntary offering. voluntary offering, motivated only by gratitude in his heart, not demanded.

Sort:

Money is useful to expand the kingdom, but we must know that we manage money, not money manages us, we are stewards of the kingdom and all we have is to serve God.

Amen apostle. it's an honor that you tell me

We are stewards of all that God has put in our hands and money is not the excuse, we must wisely manage our finances with sanity and order, because everything we have from God comes, and before all things God is our first priority
