Happy Father's Day
Hello, dear friends and sisters of Steem Church, Jesus is with you. Happy and Blessed Father's Day.
Father's Day originated in the United States and is officially celebrated on the third Sunday in June since 1966.
The exact origins of what we know today as Father's Day are disputed. Many believe that Sonora Dodd, from Washington, came up with the idea after hearing a Mother's Day sermon in 1910 and wondered, not without reason, why fathers did not have their own day as well.
Dodd and his siblings had been created by their father as a lone father after their mother died in childbirth. Along with the local YMCA and the Spokane Ministerial Association, a town near where she was born, Dodd began a campaign for Father's Day to be officially recognized.
The first such "Father's Day" was held in Spokane in 1910, with a number of villas and cities throughout America.
God created the family and defines the limits of responsibility and of the mother and father's authority. In this structure God granted parents the task of raising children, but many in their development have confused discipline with punishment and punishment with abuse. Discipline has the quality of training and correcting the behavior of children. Of course no one is perfect in this task.
I want to mention two basic aspects that parents should know in order to be good discipliners of their children. To know and love God, and to know and love their children.
I. Knowing and Loving God
A. God is the designer, architect and engineer of the family.
- Because of the nature of sin, problems were always in the family.
- We are not able to produce the conditions for a good family.
- God commands us to follow His instructions
B. transmit divine principles and values to children.
- The word must first be in the hearts of the parents.
- God knows that this is the strength of the family.
- Do not limit yourself to educating them in the social sphere.
C. The Primary Obligation of Parents (Deuteronomy 6: 5)
- God of love in its totality.
Don't be a Christian emotionalist. - Parents are the example for their children.
II. Knowing and Loving Your Children
A. God allowed his children to be born in the bosom of his family
To face them we must consult the architect of life (Psalm 139: 13,16)
We cannot guide them without knowing them (Proverbs 22 : 6)
We are all different
B. The family should have God as its foundation.Parents are the stewards of God's goods.
The parents to prepare the land, there is good version 3 of the fruit
There are external agents that can damage the fruit
Parents to prepare the moment when the child is released.
Children should be esteemed.
C. Timothy was taught from infancy in his family.
- His mother and grandmother exercised this task (2 Timothy 1: 5)
- The most important thing is that parents to educate the child in the knowledge of God (2 Timothy 3: 14-15), everything else is secondary
- God this task is going to process in the moment
Mistakes made by parents can have disastrous consequences in the near future, don't make the mistake of hitting instead of disciplining, or yelling instead of talking, or insulting instead of instructing.
If you can still correct your mistakes, do it for your own good and for the good of your children, if time has passed and you didn't do it you only have to ask for God's mercy and favor to forgive you for not having done what God asked you to do and for God to have mercy on your children so that they inherit eternal life.
Parents play an important role in the family but God created man with a special purpose, put him as the head of the home to love his wife, as a father to raise his children and reflect as man the nature of God so that it would be fulfilled the divine plan that God has for the families of the earth.
