We rest in the sacrifice of Jesus

Jesus spoke clearly, making it very clear to us: in the world you will have afflictions. At no point did he say, "Perhaps you may have addictions." And he wasn't specifically talking about wars or tragedies. You, like me, surely live different lives or have experienced some kind of frustration or downturn, as well as uncertainty due to the challenges that arise, and sometimes they overwhelm us.
But there Jesus says: "Trust, I have already overcome the world." And what does this mean? No matter what happens, Jesus will do it, no matter how strong the storm or difficult what we have to go through, it is already written that he has overcome. And if Jesus won, his victory is our victory because we are in him. That's why he also says, "Have peace in me." It's not a peace like the one the world offers; that peace doesn't depend on whether everything is well or not. The peace of God surpasses every problem or difficulty because it is anchored in someone who is eternal and who never fails.
When everything in this world is moving and seems to be crumbling, Jesus is our anchor. When we don't understand what's happening, Jesus is our victory, our security, and when we are tired, we can rest in the One who already won for us on the cross. Jesus is our security.
These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but take heart, I have overcome the world.
