We need a cleanup!

This is a verse that confronts us directly. Jesus doesn't enter the temple to give a simple teaching or something gentle; he enters and begins to stir and cleanse with authority. Why does this happen? Because the place designated for prayer, for encountering the presence of God, has become a place of business.
Does this have anything to do with the church we attend? No, this shows us that we are that temple and that the word of God doesn't only speak of buildings. Jesus dwells in our hearts. What is inside our hearts? We are the temple of God's Spirit. Is there anything else besides worshiping the Father?
Through this verse, Jesus Christ urges us to cleanse our temple, not invoking guilt but love, because he knows we were created for a much greater purpose that we may not yet understand. Let us present to God our thoughts, our desires, and ask Him to examine and cleanse our hearts.
13 And he said to them, "It is written: 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' and it shall be a house of prayer." But you have made it a den of robbers.
