Just... Do good.

We have before us a teaching from Jesus that consists of a call to love and forgiveness. It is not only about loving those who love us, this is about loving those who still hurt us. It is very easy to react and respond badly when someone hurts us, God's advice challenges us to forgive, to act with mercy and kindness.

We have the opportunity to bless those who curse us and also pray for those who treat us badly, in this way we break that cycle of hatred and open the doors of kindness and peace. This does not mean that we are going to allow or accept injustice or abuse, love is not weak, acting under the cover of love is acting with strength and trust in God.

When God speaks to us about loving our enemies, it means that we are externalizing the character of God, acting in this way we are being light in the midst of darkness through the love and transforming power of Jesus Christ through us.

27 But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

Luke 6:27-28

God bless you today and always!
