Interesting that he didn't say "fight" these things, but to "flee". Like when Joseph was put in a compromising position, he didn't fight (which would have made things worse), he fled the scene. If we are "pursuing" righteousness, we are chasing after and seeking the Kingdom, like Abraham looking for (pursuing) a city with foundations, whose architect is God.
