We have to Mind the Word
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Our mind is powerful and we have the ability to streamline what we use it for. We were made in God's likeness and therefore He made us to controllers of our own thinking. As a person, when I am been spoken to, I alone have the power to pay attention to the speaker and ponder on what the person is saying. So when people hurl insults on you for serving God, do not mind what they say or try to reason with them. If you mind the insults, it will affect your mood and your response might be bad and sinful. Our actions is affected by our thoughts. In fact, the Bible tells us that transformation is by the renewing of the mind.
As Christians, we must not allow our minds to process every . Our mind gives expression to who we are and the height of our actions. We are a product of what we think, this is an eternal principle of truth. "As you think in your heart, so are you "(Proverbs 23:7). So we pay attention to the Word of God, we are inclined to hear from God. It is like tuning up a radio set to a particular frequency or tuning a TV set to a channel of your choice. You cannot receive programs from other frequencies or channels but the tuned channel.Proverbs 4:20-21
”My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.”
Also, you will hear from God when you tune up to Him. Also, if you don't stay tuned to God, you are not inclined to hear from God. God wants us to mind His Word; He wants us to focus on His Word, that is how we can become all that He had in mind for us in the beginning.
Proverbs 4:20 tells us, ”My son, give attention to my words; incline your ears to my sayings.” We must try to mind God's word and avoid earthly distractions and also live your life by the Word which God speaks to you. As you mind the Word of God, the Holy Spirit intercedes and reveals God's plans gor you. When Moses saw the burning bush, he was amazed by it and believed in God. God is waiting for us to turn away from our old life and He wants us to draw closer to Him.
The truths of the Bible will help uplift our minds. If the Word of God were appreciated as it should be, both young and old would possess an inward rectitude, a strength of principle, that would enable them to resist temptation. Many people today refuse to rely on the bible for guidance and this results in challenges.
