HUMILITY IS A PERQUISITE TO GRACE

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." (Eph. 2:8-9)

The Bible teaches us the importance of humility in the Christian race. As Christians, we can connect to the grace of God through humility. Obviously, if humility can connects to the grace of God then christians must watch out for pride. Pride disconnects us from grace and Psalms 138:6 tells us

”Though the LORD be high, yet hath he reSpect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off”

Pride is a very bad attitude that every child of God must run away from. Pride is synonymous to saying "I don't need anything", "I don‘t need anyone", e.t.c Pride makes people think there are self-sufficient and they can do without counsel or mentoring.

1 Peter 5:5 ”Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea. all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

Brethren, we can only do all things through Christ who strengthens you but Pride never seeks help from anyone and that is why the Bible speaks against it. An humble person is a Godly person and this is why God's grace abides with the humble. Beloved, if we starting thinking we don't need God anymore, then we are bound for doom. The best we know is what we already know and soon we will discover that is not up to us but by God's grace we live through each day because Humility attracts grace.

"Humility is measured by your willingness to allow others to see who you really are in your own weaknesses and in brokenness. Not what we would like for others to see." 1 Cor. 8:2, 1 Cor. 10:12. - Bill Bright.

The Bible tells us that children should obey their parents so that their days might be long. Also everyone should submit to one another, and be clothed with humility. How can we achieve humility without obedience. It means humility and obedience are intertwined.God resists the proud and disobedience and therefore it means pride leads to death. When we humble ourself before God, He will lift us up; but if you exalt yourself in pride, then He Will demote us. Grace of the Lord will abound unto the humble but the proud will slump suddenly in a fall. Therefore, all Christians must stay humble and be his brothers' keeper.
