Following The Wrong King
So, 1 Kings section 1, the title that this entry has been given is 'Following The Wrong King', and we will take a gander at verses 1 through to verse 9 most importantly: "Now King David was old, progressed in years", this is the New King James Version incidentally, "Now King David was old, progressed in years", some trust 70 years old, "and they put covers on him, but he couldn't get warm".
Presently if you're 70 years old or above, don't get discouraged, he was clearly an extremely sickly 70 years old. When you consider that David lived around ten lifetimes of any man or lady, you can envision why he is in the state he is currently. Verse 2: "Along these lines his workers said to him, 'Let a young lady, a virgin, be sought for our ruler the lord, and let her remain before the lord, and let her administer to him; and let her lie in your bosom, that our master the ruler might be warm'.
So they sought for an exquisite young lady all through all the domain of Israel, and discovered Abishag the Shunammite, and conveyed her to the ruler. The young lady was flawless; and she administered to the lord, and served him; but the ruler did not know her. At that point Adonijah the son of Haggith lifted up himself, saying, 'I will be above all else'; and he arranged for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to keep running before him.
(Furthermore, his dad had not reproached him whenever by saying, 'Why have you done as such?' He was also gorgeous. His mom had borne him after Absalom). At that point he deliberated with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the cleric, and they took after and helped Adonijah. But Zadok the cleric, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and the forceful men who had a place with David were not with Adonijah. Furthermore, Adonijah sacrificed sheep and bulls and swelled cows by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En Rogel; he also welcomed every one of his siblings, the ruler's sons, and every one of the men of Judah, the lord's workers".
Truly what you have in this entry of Scripture is the making and the breaking of an agitator in Adonijah, the son of David...
Truly what you have in this entry of Scripture - we haven't perused everything, I mean it's very long, down to verse 53, despite the fact that we will dig into it in a minute or two - is the making and the breaking of a revolutionary in Adonijah, the son of David. Adonijah is currently David's most seasoned surviving son, and on account of that he views himself as next in line to the position of authority.
Good to hear from you hrent, Thanks for sharing with Us!
